James Hartigan: Presenter Showreel

James Hartigan began his career in radio – as a film critic at BBC Radio Kent and journalist at County Sound Radio – before joining London’s Heart 106.2 in 1998 as the news anchor on Jono Coleman’s Breakfast Show. In addition, he was the station’s showbiz editor, interviewing more egocentric celebrities than he cares to remember.

In 2001, James was hired by Unique to oversee the production company’s commercial radio programming, including its syndicated entertainment news service and the network chart show. He returned to live broadcasting in 2004 to present a variety of programmes on LBC, including news magazine The Morning Report and the weekday Drivetime show. He is currently the station’s resident film expert, reviewing what’s on at the cinema and boasting about his Blu-ray collection.

As well as movies, James is passionate about poker, playing on-line and (whenever possible and affordable) in Las Vegas. Over the last three years, he’s been able to combine his hobby and trade, commentating on televised tournaments across Europe and presenting poker programmes for Channel 4, Sky Sports, Eurosport, Challenge and The Poker Channel. He is currently a presenter and analyst on Sky Poker and is working on the sixth season of the prestigious European Poker Tour, hosting the popular EPT Live webcasts.

James is also a big tennis fan (watching, not playing) and enjoys American Football (again, watching, not playing). He follows the NFL avidly, particularly the misfortunes and mishaps of the San Francisco 49ers.

James lives in Putney, South West London with his wife, daughter and fat cat Angelina Jolie.
